Vinyasa Flow Yoga

We have 4 styles of Vinyasa yoga to choose from.

Key points about Vinyasa yoga
1: You will flow from one posture to another perhaps staying in postures for up to 5 breathes.
2: Builds strength and balance as well as flexibility
3: Always includes standing, seated and laying down postures for a balanced whole-body experience.
4: Breath focus - we flow mindfully through yoga movements while focusing on the breath to create a calming effect, bringing steadiness in body & mind and a sense of peace and ease.

We offer 4 styles of Vinyasa Yoga classes, see below:-

Ashtanga Yoga: Mon, Tues, Weds & Fri
Energetic, challenging, traditional.
An energetic, dynamic blend of flexibility, strength and balance. The teacher offers lots of physical and verbal cues and assists to help you get the most from each posture. The same sequence is practiced each week so that it becomes a moving meditation and you can really feel your progress. If you are a beginner choose Tuesday or Wednesday.
Taught by Emma, our Studio Director.

Vinyasa Yoga: Mindful Flow: Tues 6-7:15pm
Peaceful, slow but strong.
A perfect balance of peace, flexibility and strength. The sequences change slightly each week, so you feel you are progressing while also benefiting from a little variety. Slower and a little less challenging than Ashtanga.
Taught by Emma, our Studio Director.

Vinyasa Yoga: Peak Pose Explorer: Tues 7:30-9pm
Challenging, Not for the faint hearted.
This class focuses on exploring a specific 'peak' challenging posture guided by the teacher who will encourage you beyond your comfort zone.
Taught by Angela, who also teachers our Hatha class

Vinyasa Yoga: Sunday Flow: 10:45-11:45am
Slow, gentle, peaceful
A slower, gentler Vinyasa yoga class (because it's Sunday!) focused on flexibility and peace of mind.

A flowing style of yoga with a focus on breath, we have 4 Vinyasa yoga styles to choose from.

about the Teacher

Emma Lowther-Wright: Studio Director

Hi, I'm Emma and I am very fortunate to have been trained to teach Ashtanga Yoga by world-renowned John Scott. John is one of the key teachers who brought Ashtanga yoga from India to Europe. Often referred to as 'Preston's yoga teacher' I am honoured to teach yoga to 150-200 people every week!

I am dedicated to and immersed in the Ashtanga practice and continue to travel to study with senior 500hr international teachers including Eddie Stern, Scott Johnson, Lucy Crawford-Scott and Greg Nardi.

I teach with an emphasis on clear communication, empowerment, joy and compassion. I am especially interested in the neuroscience of yoga, how yoga can release physically held mental and emotional tension and how yoga can help us to live with greater joy, confidence and ease.

As well as studio classes I work within the community teaching in workplaces and education settings and to members of our community with physical and mental health challenges including those with deafness, who use a wheelchair and have cognitive challenges.

My classes are heart-lifting, empowering, flowing dances to the rhythm of the breath. I share movement and meditation practices with kindness, encouragement and joy - I hope to welcome you to a class soon.
