Young At Heart: Chair-Based Exercise Class

occurs on: Mondays

time: 10:00 - 11:00
cost: £2.00 per session
This class at Plungington Community Centre can be enjoyed in a chair or standing. This class is designed to gently improve overall fitness.

This fun and energising blend of Yoga and Groove (dance fitness) can be enjoyed seated or standing. The class includes seated joint mobilisation through gentle yoga stretches, movement to music (Groove dancing!) that can be enjoyed standing or seated, breathing techniques to improve respiratory health and guided relaxation.

The sessions will run from September 6th - November 8th and you are welcome to attend as many as you are able to make.

The classes are only £2.00 (paid at the venue) which is made possible though funding from Sport England and Community Gateway Association as well as the kind donation of space from Plungington Community Centre.

Is the venue on the ground floor?

Yes, the class is held on the ground floor.

Is the class wheelchair accessible?

Yes, this class is accessible for those who use a wheelchair. The teacher offer seated and standing options.

How energetic is this class?

As energetic as you want to make it. There are no jumps or weights, it is gentle but you can move as slowly or as quickly as you feel is right in your body.

How do I book?

There's no need to book, just turn up.

Yes the venue has a free car park

Do I need to bring anything?

It is recommended that you bring water to keep hydrated.

What should I wear?

Anything you like, you may be more comfortable in clothing you can move freely in such as a looser top and trousers, but dresses, skirts and shirts are all also absolutely fine.

Is the class suitable for men and women?

Yes, men and women are both very welcome.

I am only fairly recent to the studio and to Emma as a teacher but wow what a difference it has made to my week each week and my well-being overall. I look forward to my classes and feel amazing after.
