Explore the richness of a yin yoga practice and give yourself the gift of time and space as you explore yin yoga poses and the pauses in between, all with the intention of helping you to reconnect with rest – something that can be difficult to do in our fast-paced lives.

During the poses you’ll be able to unwind and unravel any unnecessary tension and during the pauses you can soak up all the wonderful physical and energetic benefits of the practice and encourage yourself to truly slow down and reconnect with rest. We’ll close with a guided relaxation to seal in your restful experience.

If you struggle to wind down, relax and rest, this is the session for you!

Yin yoga is a deeply nourishing practice comprising long held, floor-based postures. It soothes the nervous system, encourages you to relax and helps to reduce tension and improve flexibility. It's the perfect complement to yang styles of yoga and the active lives that many of us lead.

Please bring your own mat and a blanket. You're also welcome to bring additional props such as blocks if you have them. It is recommended to wear warm, comfy clothing and to bring socks. This session is suitable if you're new to yin yoga as everything will be explained and there are plenty of options for poses, as well as for yin yoga regulars. It is not recommended if you're pregnant and new to yin yoga.

about the Teacher

Alison Gough

Alison specialises in teaching yin yoga, restorative yoga, yoga nidra and gentle yoga having done additional training with Sarah Powers, Jo Phee, Yoga Medicine and James Reeves. Her classes focus on providing plenty of time to rest, relax and take a break from all the busyness, activity and stresses of everyday life. You'll be encouraged to practise at your own pace and develop your connection between your body, mind and spirit. Alison's wish is that you experience a greater sense of ease and that you leave class feeling calm, soothed and refreshed.
