Five Elements Yin Yoga Special - Wood Element

occurs on: Sunday 5th March
time: 10-12
cost: £18 per session
March sees the first of our Five Element yin yoga specials. Five Element Theory was developed in ancient China and can be used as a framework for understanding patterns in ourselves and nature. Each of the five elements corresponds with a season, colour emotion, sense, body system, energetic channels and organs. By including Five Element Theory in our yin yoga practice we can improve our wellness by restoring our energetic and emotional balance.

As we’re entering Spring, we’ll be starting with the Wood element. Wood relates to our purpose and our capacity to nurture, grow, expand and create – think caring for new shoots in Spring. We can find balance in this element from the stability of the earth (well-rooted like a tree!) and expressions of kindness.

The specially designed yin sequence will help you find balance, let go of stress and be cocooned in calmness to support this element. We’ll end with a wood element guided relaxation.

Please bring your own mat and a blanket. You're also welcome to bring additional props such as blocks if you have them. It is recommended to wear warm, comfy clothing and to bring socks.

This session is suitable if you're new to yin yoga as everything will be explained and there are plenty of options for poses, as well as for yin yoga regulars. It is not recommended if you're pregnant and new to yin yoga.
