Barre - Ballet Moves, Dancefloor Grooves & Awesome Tunes

Saturdays 4:30-5:30pm

Barre is taught by Emma, our Ashtanga yoga teacher, she also completed training in Barre and ballet fitness.


It's a high energy, fun class which combines ballet and dancefloor moves with Pilates and yoga and as Emma is a huge music fan it also includes awesome tunes. 

It's a highly effective workout which improves muscle definition, posture, balance and flexibility as well as supporting weight loss. It combines strength and cardio (very much like Ashtanga yoga).


You'll start with a warm-up and then use the ballet barre (or at a home a chair) and your own body weight for resistance to focus on the thigh and seat muscles. Your core will be engaged the entire class. Then you will move through a series for the arms and upper body.

For the cool down, you'll go through stretches to increase flexibility and allow your muscles to recover.

What to wear 
Shorts or leggings and a T-shirt or vest top. Come along barefoot. 

Who is it suitable for?
Everyone, although the class is high energy, it's low impact, and options are given to make each set of moves easier or more difficult.
