 GENERAL ADVICE:

  • Most of our yoga classes are 'drop-ins' so you are able to pay on the day. Any prebook classes are highlighted on the timetable.
  • Most classes are suitable for beginners but please check the class descriptions below for more details.
  • By all means contact Mandala for information on classes.
  • For the most yoga classes, it is best not to eat 1-2 hours before.

 

Quick Guide to Yoga Class Styles - From gentle to dynamic

Monday Yin is slow and gentle 

Hatha classes are relaxing and gentle 

Energising Hatha is more energising than other Hatha 

Hot Flow is energetic and to music 

Softer Ashtanga is strong but slower than other Ashtanga classes 

Ashtanga is strong and energetic, it flows and there's no music, there are two slower Ashtanga options for those who like the Ashtanga style and sequence but want it a bit slower

Yin Yoga                               Monday 6-7:15pm  £7

Gentle
Yin yoga is a quiet and slow practice which helps to soothe and nourish the body, mind and spirit. Each posture is held for several minutes to target the deeper tissues of the body and to provide time to settle into stillness. It's a perfect antidote to the busyness of modern life.

Suitable for all levels.

Qualifications: Yoga Alliance 200 hour (vinyasa flow and hatha), 100 hours specialist yin yoga training with Sarah Powers (Levels 1 and 2). Level 2 iRest yoga nidra. Member of the Independent Yoga Network (IYN).

 

Hatha Yoga & Relaxation  Tuesday 12:30-2pm £5    

Gentle 
A gentle class including yoga postures, breathing, guidance on structural corrections, mind calming and how to adapt routines to the seasons including diet!

Qualifications:  BWY Teacher's Diploma, Holistic Therapy qualifications.

 
 

Yoga Hatha Basics  - Tuesday 6:15-7:15pm £5

Gentle
A hatha yoga class suitable for all. Includes postures to increase flexibility and balance, guidance to breathe more effectively for health, develop a calmer outlook, mainten muscles/joints and advice on postural alignment.

Qualifications:  BWY Diploma, Yoga Therapist,  Specialist in Women's Health, Fusion Massage Therapist

 

 

Pregnancy Yoga                Tuesday 7-8pm £5 

 Gentle

Appropriate yoga strengthening, postural alignment, breathing skills and relaxation to support pregnancy and labour. 

Suitable from second trimester (14 - 16 weeks) to delivery.

Hot Yoga Flow      Tuesday 7:30-9pm  £5  

Energetic 
All about feel good fun vibes - this intermediate vinyasa class flows to current music flowing from one posture to the next in an hotter room than usual for increased flexibility. 

Please note this class is not suitable for beginners.

Ashtanga Yoga                     Wednesday   7-8:15am                  

Energetic

Ashtanga is an energetic yoga practice. Based on linking breath and movement, it is a powerful practice to re-energize. You can develop a strong and healthy body with regular practice.

Energising Hatha Yoga                        Wednesday £5

Mixed/Energetic

6-7:30pm - all welcome

7:30- 9pm - Male only

Robust counterpoises for sporty lifestyles. Beginner friendly, a challenge to all, David encourages you to explore and challenge your limits. 

 

You’ll create greater flexibility, build strength and increase stamina, learn to control and expand the breath and find physical balance and stillness of the mind

Ashtanga Yoga   Thursday 6-7pm £6

Mixed/Energetic
This deeply rebalancing flowing Ashtanga class moves faster than Hatha but more slowly than our other Ashtanga classes which means it's wonderful if you fancy a strong practice but less fast-paced than most Ashtanga classes.

 

You'll build strength, flexibility, balance and cardio fitness as well as expanding your breath and cultivating a calm mind. The class leaves you feeling energised and calm as it ends with a guided relaxation.

Ashtanga Yoga          Thursday 7:10 - 8:30pm £6

Energetic
This strong, energetic and flowing Ashtanga vinyasa class offers a challenge and progression and really untangles those knots!

 

This very friendly energetic class builds strength, flexibility, balance and cardio fitness as well as cultivating a calm mind. The sequence of movements is synchronised with your breath and the class leaves you feeling energised and calm while regular practice enables you to live with greater emotional ease. We work muscles across all planes of movement and reconnect the joy of movement to truly feel alive!

Ashtanga Slow - Beginners course        Thursday 7:15-8:15pm £6

If you want to build strength, stamina and confidence begire joining the class upstairs pop along to this beginners class.

 

An introduction to the basics for Ashtanga Yoga Practice. Learn how to synchronise breath with movement, how to move safely from movement to movement in this flowing sequence. 

Experience a growth in confidence and strength and how the practice leads to a quiet mind

Inner Dance                               Monthly Friday  10-11

Sept 6th, Oct 4th
A gentle class, Inner Dance is a meditation to recorded music in which you can stay still or move or dance, usually with eyes closed. You will be resting comfortably on a mast or chair with cushions and blankets while the music supports rest and activity allowing you to release stuck energies and tensions and come to insight.

Anima Embodied Somatic          Monthly Friday  10-11
Sept 20th, Oct 25th
A gentle class designed to aid relaxation, befriending of the body and connection to the senses, creativity and imagination. You'll be guided into relaxation and the present moment and invited to move in ways that feel right for you.

Ashtanga Yoga                             Friday 6-7:30pm £6

Strong, energetic, flowing practice moving from posture to posture holding each posture for only 5 breathes. Ashtanga is a traditional practice. This very friendly energetic class builds strength, flexibility, balance and cardio fitness as well as cultivating a calm mind. 

 

The sequence of movements is synchronised with your breath and the class leaves you feeling energised and calm while regular practice enables you to live with greater emotional ease. We work muscles across all planes of movement and reconnect the joy of movement to truly feel alive!

 

Great class camarderie due to the challenging nature and this class often meet for pizza after class as a result!

Relaxation Hatha Yoga                      Friday 6:30 - 8pm £5

Simple postures using props for extra comfort and held for slightly longer than in a regular class, to encourage release. A guided relaxation practice, breath work to calm the mind and induce a relaxed state. Suitable for all abilities and a great start to the weekend!

Kundalini Yoga                                   First Saturday of each month 9:30-11am £6

A dynamic blend of postures, pranayama (breathing exercises), some mantra (chanting) and meditation, which teach you the art of relaxation, self-healing and elevation.

'Balancing body and mind enables you to experience the clarity and beauty of your soul' (Yogi Bhajan).

Sunday Bliss Soundbath Meditation          Monthly Sunday 11:30 - 13:30   £18


September 15th, October 20th, November 17th, December tbc

The ultimate in deep relaxation, release and rebalancing meditation. 

 

Snuggle under our blankets, with eye masks and cushions while Emma plays Himalayen Bowls, Crystal singing bowls, chimes and therepeutic percussion to release physical, mental and emotional tension. 

 

Emma plays specifoc rhythms and harmonics to elicit joyful and peaceful emotions and to slow the brainwaves slow down the Theta state which is between sleep and wake, muscles relax and the nervous system swicthes to the rest, digest and heal state.
