Class Details:

 HOW TO BOOK FOR CLASSES & GENERAL ADVICE:

 

The classes are listed from Monday through to Sunday to help you locate a teacher and details to get in touch with them.

 

  • By all means contact Mandala for any further information on your selected class or classes
  • Most of Mandala classes are run as 'drop-ins' so you will pay on the day. There are a few where it is required that you book a space. Some teachers may offer discounted rates if you pay in advance for a number of classes
  • We do not have an advanced booking system at the moment.  Should the classes become too full, then this may be something we need to consider.  However, for now, just check with us that your class is up and running by visiting our website or checking on our Mandala facebook page.  There are the odd ocassions when a teacher is sick, or we have problems covering during holidays.  If this is the case there will be information on our HOMEPAGE for you to easily access. 
  • Most Teachers will inform their students personally of any changes to their classes.
  • If any teachers are away, cover will be arranged, if possible, with a suitable yoga teacher for that type of class
  • For the majority of yoga classes, it is best not to eat 1-2 hours before.

Monday Morning & 'Somatics' 

10.30 - 11.45/£7 drop-in

 

These classes are aimed at helping movement of the body to be more efficient and to assist in reduction of discomfort/pain in movement.

 

Classes may focus of areas such as back health, recognising patterns yoiur body makes which could be corrected. Sometimes theses may come about due to stress, accidents or injuries.

 

This is a safe approach to recover from chronic pain and is a sensory-motor training that works for all kinds of stress, injury and movement problems.  It can work for children, it can work for an aging body, it can work for anyone!

 

A new course is due to start in 4 September 2017

Mother and Baby 'Lunch-Share'

Mother & Baby Monthly   'Lunch-share'

Once a month you are welcome to come along and meet up with other New Mums to share lunch and stories!

 

The next one: Monday 25 September 2017

 

This 'lunch-share' is also a time for you to make new friends and may be have the support of other new Mums going through adjustments for a new baby in the home.  This can be very helpful at a time when you can be on your own with this new phase of your life. By providing a network of friends in a similar situation, worries can be shared and resolved.

 

Please bring a small amount of food to share.....

Options may be for walk in the park area after lunch.

Traditional Yoga generally follows an authentic link to yoga passed down to today from hundreds of years ago. The pathway or, journey, leads to ability for the practice of MEDITATION.

 

 

What you can expect from this class:

 

Oliver runs 6 week courses, which are progressive.  He encourages you to try your best to attend regularly so as to get the most benefits out of the practice, but if you miss a class that's fine, and if you join mid-way through a cycle that's fine too!  It is still a drop-in, and you can join the class at any time.

This is a great opportunity to engage in traditional yoga and to make progress in your practice from the basics of yogic posture and breathing to the higher stages of concentration and meditative practices.

Learn many new ways of breathing, concentrating and focusing attention, and practices of deep relaxation.

Sue is both a yoga teacher and therapist.  She is therefore offering the opportunity for you to go to a yoga class and if you wish, follow this up with a massage treatment (of which there are many to help you feel that 'spa' touch of luxury!

 

What you can expect from this class:

  • Feel more mobile and strong physically
  • Find time for yourself
  • Recognise the values of breathing correctly
  • Receive expert guidance on structural corrections, as we often discover one shoulder lower than the other etc.
  • Learn the values of keeping your mind calm and how to do practices which assist in achieving this
  • Notice how the seasons of the year affect you in many ways, Sue will discuss this with you and how to alter many daily routine things to support this change, including diet!

Tuesday Hot Yoga Flow       7.30 - 9 pm/£5

 

Flow Yoga means that the yoga postures flow into each other, but you may also have a short time holding them....

It is called 'hot' as the moving from 'body shape' to 'body shape' requires some effort and this produces heat!

The room will also be quite warm as muscles work better in the warmth.

The level of difficulty in the yoga postures will be given to you by the Teacher Anglela, so that you are able to do them.

This is a fun class using music to help inspire you and move with the beat, if you like?!

We are now entering our sixth year to slowly and organically spread our wings at The Mandala.  With patience, we are seeing progress towards providing a unique place for you to drop into and chill out.  Your comments on the fab energy within Mandala are what I felt when I first walked into the building. Over the years it has been a building where people have been to, to enjoy themselves!  We plan to keep things simple, but with the essentials that make you feel at home.

Mandala aims to help you maintain your health and we support organisations doing the same.
