 GENERAL ADVICE:

  • Most of our yoga classes are 'drop-ins' so you are able to pay on the day. Any prebook classes are highlighted on the timetable.
  • Most classes are suitable for beginners but please check the class descriptions below for more details.
  • By all means contact Mandala for information on classes.
  • For the most yoga classes, it is best not to eat 1-2 hours before.

 

Yin Yoga - Gentle                               Monday 6-7:15pm  £7

Yin yoga is a quiet and slow practice which helps to soothe and nourish the body, mind and spirit. Each posture is held for several minutes to target the deeper tissues of the body and to provide time to settle into stillness. It's a perfect antidote to the busyness of modern life.

Suitable for all levels.

 

Teacher:  Alison

Qualifications: Yoga Alliance 200 hour (vinyasa flow and hatha), 100 hours specialist yin yoga training with Sarah Powers (Levels 1 and 2). Level 2 iRest yoga nidra. Member of the Independent Yoga Network (IYN).

 

Yoga & Relaxation - Gentle Tuesday 12:30-2pm £5    

A gentle class including yoga postures, breathing, guidance on structural corrections, mind calming and how to adapt routines to the seasons including diet!

Qualifications:  BWY Teacher's Diploma, extensive Holistic Therapy qualifications.

 
 

Yoga Basics  Tuesday 6:15-7:15pm £5

A hatha yoga class suitable for all. Includes postures to increase flexibility and balance, guidance to breathe more effectively for health, develop a calmer outlook, mainten muscles/joints and advice on postural alignment.

Qualifications:  BWY Diploma, Yoga Therapist,  Specialist in Women's Health, Fusion Massage Therapist

 

 

Pregnancy Yoga                Tuesday 7-8pm £5 

 Relaxation, breathing skills and other tools to aid your health during pregnancy and labour. Assistance with postural alignment and working with positions for labour. 

Suitable from second trimester (14 - 16 weeks) to delivery.

Hot Yoga Flow                    Tuesday 7:30-9pm  £5  

All about the feel good fun vibes - this intermediate level class is Angela's own special mix of vinyasa flow. A sequenced class to current music flowing from one posture to the next in an hotter room than usual for increased flexibility. 

Please note this class is not suitable for beginners.

Ashtanga Yoga                    Wednesday 7-8:15am £7

Ashtanga is an energetic yoga practice. Based on linking breath and movement, it is a powerful practice to re-energize. You can develop a strong and healthy body with regular practice.

Qualifications: Triyoga 200Hr yoga.

 

 

Mixed Yoga                        Wednesday 10-11:30am £30 for 6 classes 

Suitable for all levels. Susan will teach you yoga postures with plenty of options to suit you.

Qualifications: Lucy Crawford 200Hr Yoga and British Wheel of Yoga. 

 

 

Hatha Yoga                        Wednesday £5

6-7:30pm - all welcome

7:30- 9pm - Male only

David’s two Wednesday classes are robust counterpoises for sporty lifestyles. Beginner friendly, a challenge to all, David encourages you to explore and challenge your limits. 

 

You’ll create greater flexibility, build strength and increase stamina, learn to control and expand the breath and find physical balance and stillness of the mind

Ashtanga Yoga with Emma £6

Thurs   6- 7pm (Beginners)

Thurs   7:10 - 8:25pm 

Friday 6 - 7:30pm

Strong, energetic, flowing practice moving from posture to posture holding each posture for only 5 breathes. Ashtanga is a traditional practice.

 

The later class and Friday class are faster and more energetic than the early Thursday class.

 

This very friendly energetic class builds strength, flexibility, balance and cardio fitness as well as cultivating a calm mind. The sequence of movements is synchronised with your breath and the class leaves you feeling energised and calm while regular practice enables you to live with greater emotional ease. We work muscles across all planes of movement and reconnect the joy of movement to truly feel alive!

 

Teacher: Emma 

Qualifications: Yoga Alliance qualified teacher (200hrs),  Trained to teach Ashtanga yoga by internationally renowned John Scott.

 

Emna is also a Sound therapist trained by international leaders in the therapeutic application of sound including Himalayan Bowl massage, Drum massage, soundbaths and crystal bowl therapy.

Ashtanga Slow - Beginners course        Thursday 7:15-8:15pm £6

 

 If you want to build strength, stamina and confidence begire joining the class upstairs pop along to this beginners class.

 

An introduction to the basics for Ashtanga Yoga Practice. Learn how to synchronise breath with movement, how to move safely from movement to movement in this flowing sequence. 

Experience a growth in confidence and strength and how the practice leads to a quiet mind

Relaxing Hatha Flow - Gentle       Friday 9:45 - 11.00 £6

This lovely inclusive class is suitable for beginners and those who prefer a more calming practice.

Straight forward flow sequences, combining breath and movement to stretch and strengthen, followed by a guided relaxation to sooth the chatter in your mind, leaving you feeling refreshed. (Not suitable during pregnancy)

Great class camarderie due to the challenging nature and this class often meet for pizza after class as a result!

Relaxation Hatha Yoga                      Friday 6:30 - 8pm £5

Simple postures using props for extra comfort and held for slightly longer than in a regular class, to encourage release. A guided relaxation practice, breath work to calm the mind and induce a relaxed state. Suitable for all abilities and a great start to the weekend!

Kundalini Yoga                                   First Saturday of each month 9:30-11am £6

A dynamic blend of postures, pranayama (breathing exercises), some mantra (chanting) and meditation, which teach you the art of relaxation, self-healing and elevation.

'Balancing body and mind enables you to experience the clarity and beauty of your soul' (Yogi Bhajan).

Suitable for all levels.
